Undoubtedly, you have known or heard of people who take their favorite hobby and make something more of it. Harmony House Coffee was realized in just such a fashion. After assembling my own coffee roaster for less than $100, I found myself smitten with the roasting process in no time. I was amazed at how different coffees released their flavors depending on their origins and the specific roasting process I used. Desiring to make these coffees available in my area, Rhea County Tennessee, I extensively researched the roasting process and studied with coffee experts. Finally, in October of 2004, Harmony House Coffee opened just north of the Dayton, Tennessee city limits. We quickly realized the difficulties of selling what is known as Specialty Coffees in an area not yet immersed in these flavors and tastes and found that we needed a more centralized location.
Thus, in April of 2006, we moved our business and coffee roaster to Maley Hollow Rd on Highway 27. Our two-year stay there was a great learning experience, but the Great Recession and unfortunate changes to the properties surrounding the shop left us desiring another home. Fortunately, a better location soon became available and we moved again- this time right into the middle of downtown Dayton, where we currently reside.
The name Harmony House Coffee Company arose out of the belief that living life together is not an accident, but rather the result of a purposeful Creator. God, His creatures, and all of nature are meant to live in harmony here on Earth. To enjoy the relationships God intends for us, we must be purposeful in creating opportunities and atmospheres that allow us to form them. In that light, we are happy to offer Harmony House as a place to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and build long-lasting relationships with our community and our God. However, regardless of your core beliefs, we hope you find both our place and our products satisfying and welcoming!
